Do not read this free excerpt of The Trailer Park Rules unless you're willing to read the whole thing, because if you start it, you're probably going to want to read the rest
Already bought the Kindle edition last week, although I haven’t gotten around to starting it yet. I was the kid from the trailer park myself, so it should be interesting to see how your impressions compare with mine.
I don’t recommend it. I have vague memories of an apartment in Ann Arbor, but kindergarten through 3rd grade we lived in trailer parks. Dad was able to buy us a house for the rest of grade school, but economic conditions forced him to sell and move out of state before I began middle school. Worst part about moving? Winding up in a goddamn trailer park again, albeit briefly.
I loved Trailer Park Rules, and I predict it will be an Indy bestseller! Put it on your holiday gift list. The well-developed characters and plot deliver the meta-messages we need to learn from income inequality, a favorite subject of Teheux that she always delivers with thought and insight.
Wow I love this story Michelle. The characterization is spot on and you can truly feel what they are going through. Fantastic piece. Thanks so much for sharing. Blessings. :)
I loved this book! Especially how the character's lives, while separate, were intertwined with each other, as neighbors lives tend to be. I especially love how things turned out at the end. It's a great read!
The first point of view, from Jonesy, was like talking to friends who used to edit small town papers - I felt like I was having another conversation with them. Great job!

I grew up in a trailer but not a trailer park.
